Baylor Brake, or Eddy Current Auxiliary drawworks brake is currently used worldwide on both land based and offshore drilling rigs. The Baylor Brake is a type of brake system used on drawworks to control and regulate the speed and tension of the drilling line during drilling and well intervention operations. It is designed to provide precise control over the rate of descent or ascent of the drill string and to ensure the safety of drilling personnel and equipment.
It is ruggedly built, has established outstanding performance records, and require very little in service attention. The brake includes a complete range of electromagnetic brakes, controls, monitors, and cooling systems.
